Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to Serie A for a midfielder capable of replacing Dembele in the Premier League.

It seemed only a matter of time before Mousa Dembele said goodbye to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to The Mail, the experienced Belgian has now completed his move to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F with Spurs having accepted an £11 million bid for one of their longest serving players.
Now, replacing a midfielder who was described as a ‘genius’ by Mauricio Pochettino a year ago could be easier said than done. But, according to Inter Live, Spurs have already identified two players who, whisper it, might actually be upgrades.
It is understood that the North London giants are keen on Juventus’ Blaise Matuidi and Inter Milan’s Uruguayan international Matias Vecino.
Now, both players are slightly different from Dembele, a masterful and cerebral presence in the centre of the park. But Matuidi and Vecino both share his ability to combine technical and physical attributes.

Matuidi is one of the most successful midfielders of the modern era, a tigerish and hard-working powerhouse of a player who has won five league titles with PSG and Juventus, not to mention the 2018 World Cup at the heart of France’s engine room.
Vecino, however, has blossomed into one of European football’s leading midfielders this season, starring in a transitional Inter Milan side. He is only 27 and can only get better while his performances against Spurs in the Champions League this season highlighted how influential he can be on his day.
Identifying Dembele’s successor is one thing – signing them is another entirely.
