Issa Diop has starred in Ligue 1 with Toulouse and is said to have piqued the interest of some European superclubs, including Spurs, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

You only need to look at the list of clubs said scouting Toulouse defender Issa Diop to come to the conclusion that the 21-year-old centre-back must be something special.
And although it was Diop’s unfortunate own goal which gifted PSG a 1-0 win away at Toulouse on the weekend, his overall performance was excellent. Neymar, until the second-half breakthrough, barely had a look in.

Diop is exactly the sort of player Tottenham are used to signing these days – talented, hungry and with bucketloads of potential. After all, the North London giants smashed their transfer record to sign a 21-year-old defender in Davinson Sanchez last summer, so they would surely have no qualms about paying big to win the race for Diop.
And with doubts surrounding the future of Toby Alderweireld, a deal for the five-time France U21 ace could be perfectly timed.

Alderweireld is out of contract in the summer of 2019 and the lack of movement towards a potential new deal has been well documented. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are keen to take advantage of the situation.
