Premier League giants Spurs are reportedly keen on Blackburn Rovers’ Championship ace Bradley Dack, and so are West Bromwich Albion.
If anyone doubted whether Bradley Dack could make the step up from League One to the Championship, they have been silenced by the 24-year-old’s terrific start to life in the second tier.
Dack has scored eight goals in 14 games for Blackburn, leading to speculation that he could be set for a big-money move away from Ewood Park just a year-and-a-half after Tony Mowbray’s side paid Gillingham a bargain £750,000 for his signature.
According to The Sun (7 October, page 60) reported that West Brom are willing to pay £20 million for the prolific midfielder in January, having seen a £15 million bid rejected in August.
The Standard, meanwhile, have claimed that even Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old and could give him a chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
Though, in quotes reported by the Sky Sports, Mowbray has seemingly drawn the curtain on speculation linking Dack with a move to The Hawthorns or North London, making it clear that Blackburn have no interest in selling.
“My belief is that he owes us something back in the short-term. In the mid-term we have to give him a team that he can keep producing in,” said the former Celtic and Middlesbrough boss.
“We bought him for £750,000 – if we sell him for £25 million I’d hope I get a good chunk of that to spend on two or three players.
“He won’t go anywhere though, even if we get big bids in this next window.”
Talk is cheap, however, and it remains to be seen what Blackburn’s stance will be if a £20-25 million bid comes their way in January. But if Rovers are hoping to take a shot at the play-offs this season, keeping Dack is simply priceless.
