Sean Goss swapped Championship Queens Park Rangers for the Scottish Premiership giants and near namesake Rangers in January.

Rangers fans must have been wondering why QPR let them sign Sean Goss on loan in the January transfer window.
The former Manchester United youngster enjoyed a superb start to his Ibrox career, controlling the tempo from the centre of the park and showing off his excellent range of passing – all the while explaining why he had once been likened to Michael Carrick.
In fact, Goss was so impressive early on at Rangers that manager Graeme Murty stated back in February that he would love to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal – prompting an angry response from QPR counterpart Ian Holloway who stated that the 22-year-old’s future was at Loftus Road, as reported by the Daily Record.

Two months since that rather unseemly disagreement, however, and Goss’ status at Rangers has slipped. He struggled badly in the 3-2 home defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic back in mid-March and, since a 1-0 loss against Kilmarnock a week later, has played just 12 minutes of football for The Gers.
In the space of two games, Goss went from a potential signing of the season candidate to an outcast, with Murty preferring fellow mid-season addition Greg Docherty and the now fully-fit Graham Dorrans (below) in the centre of the park.

And it is tempting to wonder now whether Rangers would still be keen on signing Goss this summer – even if QPR were willing to let him go. Other midfield targets, such as Youssouf Mulumbu and Glenn Kamara, have been linked, suggesting that the club might have even given up on a permanent deal.
This signing looked too good to be true a few months ago. Perhaps it was after all.
