Rangers host Hearts in Wednesday’s Scottish Premiership clash but will Steven Gerrard hand Lee Wallace a shock re-call?

Lee Wallace has been spotted training for the Rangers first-team as speculation grows that he could be handed a shock re-call to the starting XI for Wednesday night’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts (Daily Record).
The 31-year-old appears to be entering his final few weeks as a Rangers player with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
And the former club captain has endured a season to forget under Steven Gerrard. Wallace has made just two Scottish Premiership appearances, the most recent of those coming in a 2-1 away win at St Johnstone back in December.
But Rangers will host Hearts in midweek shorn of their first-choice left-backs, possibly allowing Wallace to make a return. Borna Barisic is still injured while Andy Halliday was sent off for confronting Celtic skipper Scott Brown in the aftermath of Sunday’s feisty Old Firm derby defeat at Celtic.

As a result, the door has opened for Wallace to make a shock return with the veteran defender spotted training with Gerrard’s first-team, as seen in the Daily Record.
Does he have one last appearance in him?
