Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly ready to cash in on goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and Championship giants Leeds United were previously linked.

Back in April, Leeds United were linked with Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and the fans couldn’t have been happier.
The 33-year-old might have been restricted to just 18 Championship starts in 2017/18 thanks in part to injury but he has still been one of the division’s stand-out shot-stoppers over the last few years. As recently as 2016, Westwood was starting a play-off final at Wembley.
And The Sun stated that Leeds were willing to offer the Republic of Ireland international a fresh start, which would have gone down very well among supporters who were forced to watch behind their hands as Felix Wiedwald committed error after error last season.
But with just a week to go until the transfer window shuts, Westwood is still at Hillsborough and a move to Elland Road appears to be off the cards with Leeds landing Jamal Blackman on loan from Chelsea to provide competition for the gifted Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

But reports from The Mail (live blog, 2.38) that Wednesday would listen to offers of just £1.5 million for Westwood suggests that Leeds should really have made their move.
Blackman is a solid signing and excelled at Sheffield United last season but he is a short term fix on a temporary deal. Westwood, meanwhile, could have been Leeds’ number one for years or at the very least an excellent mentor for Peacock-Farrell.
