How would you define the perfect Marcelo Bielsa midfielder? Versatile, intelligent, composed on the ball and hard-working off it, and blessed with the ability and the self-confidence to take the game to the opposition.

In that sense, Scott McTominay ticks a lot of boxes.

According to the Sun, Manchester United are considering loaning the 21-year-old out in the January transfer window after a difficult start to his Premier League season and Leeds could be his destination.

McTominay seems to be an ideal addition for the Championship-chasing Whites, at least on paper. After all, the three-time Scotland international embodies many of the attributes Bielsa looks for in a midfielder.

McTominay earned the admiration of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for his skill on the ball and his ability to link the play intelligently in the centre of the park, while displaying the physicality and hunger to win back possession when required.

He should have little trouble fitting in with Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and co at Elland Road.

McTominay would also give Bielsa another option for his three-man defence, even if his time in the role at United has not exactly gone to plan.
