West Ham United could have a great chance to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Premier League rivals Everton, one year on.

West Ham United spent over £100 million on new players in the summer but have somehow still managed to find themselves short in central midfield.
Somewhat inevitably, Jack Wilshere has struggled with injuries since signing from Arsenal on a free transfer while Carlos Sanchez arrived, made a horrible mistake against Wolves and was promptly ruled out for the season.
The centre of midfield has looked a problem position for much of the campaign thereafter, particularly as The Hammers were swept aside by Manuel Pellegrini’s former employers Manchester City on Saturday.
So the potential availability of Morgan Schneiderlin in January should pique West Ham’s interest in the New Year.
The Mirror (live blog, 29 January) reported that the London club were willing to pay £20 million for Everton’s France international. And, 12 months on, The Toffees could be ready to let him go.
The Mirror claims that head coach Marco Silva is unconvinced by Schneiderlin, who has started just four Premier League games this season, with Everton keen to sign the £40 million-rated Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele as a potential upgrade.

Schneiderlin hasn’t been at his best since leaving Southampton, initially for Manchester United in 2015, but he could be exactly what West Ham are looking for if they can help him find his form again.
The 29-year-old has bags of experience, a decent passing range and would provide the energy and combativeness that Pellegrini is lacking in front of his defence.
