Premier League relegation scrappers West Brom and Brighton were both linked with Bristol City centre-back Aden Flint, but the Seagulls have a new target.

Ezri Konsa looks set to leave Charlton Athletic before next week’s transfer deadline, but it seems that he won’t be heading to Merseyside after all.
Despite speculation that Everton were set to seal the signing of the 20-year-old centre-back, The Sun states that Brighton have swooped in and are prepared to offer £8 million; a fee that Charlton would likely accept.
As such, the report adds that Brighton manager Chris Hughton hopes to complete the signing of Konsa before the weekend.

Hughton wanted one more defender this month and it appears that Konsa will be his new addition; potentially leaving West Brom free to step up their interest in Flint as a result.
The 6ft 7ins centre-back, who has scored seven goals in all competitions this season, is reportedly seen by the Baggies as a potential replacement for Jonny Evans according to the Sunday People (14th January, page 47), who looks increasingly likely to leave with Arsenal stepping up their pursuit.

Evans’ departure is sure to land West Brom a fee around £20 million, meaning they would be handed the funds required to make a move for Bristol City’s man mountain.
And the chances of Flint lining up at The Hawthorns next month might have got a little higher with Brighton set to sign Konsa.
