Moses Odubajo is on trial with Scottish Premiership giants Celtic despite being linked with a Steve Bruce reunion at Championship outfit Aston Villa.

Aston Villa’s hopes of signing Moses Odubajo are now hanging by a thread.
With Aston Villa in a real financial mess, signing a player of Odubajo’s talent and potential looked like a real coup, even if he hadn’t played a single game for two years due to a horrific knee injury.

Now, however, it seems that Odubajo is on his way to Scotland instead. The 24-year-old has been included on Celtic’s pre-season tour of Austria and given a chance to earn a contract at the reigning Scottish Premiership champions.
The ball, then, is now in Aston Villa’s court. Should they make a last-ditch attempt to pull off what could be one of the best bargain signings of the entire summer?

Bruce was the man who turned Odubajo from a flying winger into an attack-minded full-back. But, ironically, is this the reason why he is no longer needed at Villa Park?

Back in May, Villa were expected to lose Alan Hutton when his contract expired while Ahmed Elmohamady was also been linked with a move away, meaning Bruce would soon be very light on right-backs.
Since then, however, reports suggesting Elmohamady could leave have disappeared while Hutton has taken a pay-cut to extend his stay at Villa Park. To put it short, Odubajo would be a far more sensible signing for Celtic than he would for Aston Villa.
