Cameron Carter-Vickers is playing Championship football for Swansea City on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Swansea City might have been comfortably swatted aside away at play-off chasing Bristol City on Sunday, but they could have conceded a lot more than two goals if it wasn’t for Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The USA international has struggled to force his way into Graham Potter’s starting XI since moving to Swansea on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window. But he seized a rare chance with both hands at Ashton Gate, marking his eighth Championship start with a superb display that saved the Swans from a humiliating defeat in the West Country.
Partnering Dutchman Mike Van der Hoorn at the back, Carter-Vickers managed two interceptions and four clearances and made a number of superb last-ditch challengers as Bristol City threatened to put the icing on the cake late on.
The question now, however, is whether the 21-year-old can build on what was probably his best display in Swansea colours so far.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino appears to rate Carter-Vickers highly, often including him in the club’s pre-season plans, and the North London club could soon find themselves in need of further depth at the back with Toby Alderweireld’s long-term future uncertain.
Carter-Vickers, then, will be hoping this display in Bristol is a turning point.
