Scottish Premiership champions Celtic continue to be linked with Birger Meling as they look to sign a Kieran Tierney replacement.

Rosenborg coach Eirik Horneland has seemingly ended Celtic’s hopes of signing Birger Meling before the transfer window slams shut, speaking to TV2.
Just 24 hours ago, the Hoops looked closer than ever to signing a Norwegian international left-back with the speed and style to fill a Kieran Tierney-shaped void in Neil Lennon’s starting XI.
According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic are big fans of 24-year-old Meling and their hopes of getting a deal over the line received a major boost when Rosenborg were beaten by Dinamo Zagreb in the final Champions League qualifying round. The fans were certainly confident that the defender was on his way.
Meling, after all, admitted to VG that his future at Rosenborg could depend on that two-legged clash with the Croatian champions.
But Horneland is confident that no one, not even Meling, will be on his way out of the Lerkendal Stadium over the next few days.

“There is no one on the way in and no one on the way out. There are a few days left (in the window), so I think it will be the way it looks now,” said the 44-year-old.
Celtic might look well stocked at right-back, landing Moritz Bauer on loan from Stoke alongside Israel international Hatem Abd Elhamed, but Boli Bolingoli is still their only real option on the opposite flank.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic have failed with a bid for Kilmarnock’s former Rangers youngster Greg Taylor and it seems that Meling too might be out of reach.
