Josh Windass fired Scottish Premiership giants Rangers into the next round of the Scottish Cup, just two weeks after Leeds United’s failed bid.

Josh Windass has wasted no time in showing Leeds United what they could have had.
The Daily Record stated that the Championship giants had made a bid of £500,000 in January. And, just a few hours before the window slammed shut, the Rangers midfielder gave a masterclass in finishing that explained exactly why he was so coveted in the transfer window.

Fraserburgh of the Highland League may not have been the most glamorous Scottish Cup fourth-round opponent but Windass provided a display of top flight quality in humble surroundings on Wednesday night.
A coolly taken penalty was followed up by two clinical strikes in the second half, meaning the 24-year-old has now scored nine goals in his last 14 games in all competitions.
It is an impressive record for a player who continues to go from strength to strength under Graeme Murty. At this rate, it is not inconceivable that Windass cannot at least equal the career-best 17 strikes he produced during his final season at Accrington Stanley back in 2015/16.

And if any Leeds fans had tuned in they will have been left in no doubt why Windass was a target this month.
While Kalvin Phillips has added a couple of goals to his game this season, no one in Leeds’ squad possesses Windass’s ability to time runs or finish chances from central midfield.
Although if the son of Dean continues on this run of form, Leeds will have to offer far more than £500,000 in the summer.
