Gil Dias has made a real impact since arriving at Championship outfit Nottingham Forest on loan from Ligue 1 powerhouse AS Monaco.

Gil Dias has not waited around to make a big impact at Nottingham Forest.

The 21-year-old is one of three young Portuguese starlets who have been brought to the City Ground by super-agent Jorge Mendes, arriving on loan from 2017 Ligue 1 champions Monaco.

There is a real buzz around Dias and he only added to the anticipation with a wonderfully taken goal in the recent 2-0 pre-season friendly win against Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

And it seems that the youngster, who spent last season in Italy with Fiorentina, is already planning for an extended stay at the City Ground.

Fortunately, Forest have the option to make his loan deal permanent should he impress with a fee of around £18 million reported.

“This is only my first month, but I am enjoying it. We will see how we go, but I would like to be here (after this season ends)”, Dias, who scored another terrific goal against Malaga, told the club’s official website.

“I have come to Nottingham now to get the club in the Premier League.”

It remains to be seen whether Dias can adapt to life in the notoriously gruelling English Championship. But the success enjoyed by the likes of Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa at Wolves suggests that he can have a similar impact in the East Midlands.
