West Ham United were keen to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Premier League rivals Everton in the January transfer window.

Morgan Schneiderlin simply hasn’t been at his best since he left Southampton to join Manchester United in the summer of 2015.
The French midfielder struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford and it’s been a similar story at Everton, who he then joined for £24 million 13 months ago.
Schneiderlin has been in and out of the Toffees’ starting XI and has found himself frequently on the wrong end of criticism from supporters, who have questioned his work-rate and discipline in the centre of the park.

According to the BBC, West Ham were keen to offer Schneiderlin an escape route in January, and, after failing to fulfill David Moyes’ desire for a new midfielder, they are once again keen to reinforce their engine room this summer so the 28-year-old could still be a viable target.
But if the Hammers want to avoid wasting their own time, Schneiderlin’s latest comments on his future should not go unnoticed.

“If I have to leave Everton, I’d like a different challenge than the Premier League. I’ve already been to Southampton, Manchester United and Everton. I don’t see myself going anywhere else in England,” the 15-time France international told BeIN Sports.
West Ham have already tried and failed to sign Jonjo Shelvey, Harry Arter, Leander Dendoncker and a few others since the turn of the year.
And it seems that a bid for Schneiderlin this summer would fall flat very quickly.
