Everton are hoping to bring PSV’s technical director Marcel Brands to Goodison Park but does a move to the Premier League appeal to him?

Everton might have been hoping to wrap up a deal to bring PSV’s esteemed talent-spotter Marcel Brands to Goodison Park this week.
Because Sky Sports had reported earlier in April that Brands was expected to move to Merseyside once PSV had wrapped up a third Eredivisie title in four years – which they did on Sunday with a 3-0 thrashing of bitter rivals Ajax.
But it seems that the Eindhoven club’s respected technical director could be staying at the Phillips Stadium after all. In an interview with Fox Sports, Brands spoke glowingly about the club he joined back in 2011 and has insisted that he is already planning for a busy future at the newly crowned champions.

“We are busy preparing for next season. We started doing so at the winter break. Now it’s time to relax and celebrate,” Brands said.
“I have a contract at PSV. There is interest but it is hard to leave this beautiful place.”
Brands is viewed as the brains behind PSV’s recent success, having brought the likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Luuk de Jong, Marko Van Ginkel and Hirving Lozano to the club during a period of ongoing domination.

Everton would have been hoping that he could bring that intuitive eye for a bargain to Goodison Park.
The club’s current director of football, Steve Walsh, has come under great pressure among supporters with a number of his high-profile signings, including Michael Keane, Ashley Williams and Davy Klaassen, failing to live up to their price-tags.
