Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are reportedly set to receive an offer from Brighton and Hove Albion for McGregor.

Callum McGregor is indispensable for Celtic right now.
The 25-year-old academy graduate has become one of the first names on the team-sheet over the last year or so and has already played 21 games in all competitions so far this season, with Brendan Rodgers hailing his ‘tactical brilliance’ after the 4-2 win against Hibernian on Saturday.
So Celtic fans will surely have been concerned about reports suggesting that McGregor could look to leave in the New Year.
According to the Sun (30 September, page 59), the Scotland international was keen to follow the likes of Stuart Armstrong and Virgil van Dijk to the Premier League, with Brighton lining up a £10 million January bid.
But McGregor’s comments this weekend hardly suggest that he is packing his bags in preparation for a move to the South Coast. Speaking to Herald Scotland, the versatile midfielder claimed that he is ready and waiting to replace influential captain Scott Brown at Parkhead.
“If you don’t learn off somebody like that it is a wasted opportunity,” said McGregor, who is under contract until 2021.

“He has been here for a number of years. Nobody really wants to think about life after Broony, but the more I can learn off his game and implement it into my game the better. I am trying to do that all the time.”
33-year-old Brown is out of contract at the end of the season but is expected to be offered a new deal with his performances as good as ever. So that would more than likely see McGregor stick around for the next few years to continue his footballing education from one of the best in the business.
