Tammy Abraham scored his first Aston Villa goal in the 2-0 Championship win against Rotherham United on Tuesday.

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce appears to have stumbled across the way to get the best out of his summer striker signing Tammy Abraham.
Chelsea loanee Abraham scored on his home debut for Villa on Tuesday, netting the opener in a 2-0 win against Rotherham United. And the England international is certainly benefiting from having Jonathan Kodjia, his one-time Bristol City teammate, as a strike partner.
Abraham looked far more dangerous during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers once Kodjia arrived on the pitch in the second half and they linked up impressively again in midweek, with the Ivory Coast international playing a major role in the 20-year-old’s first Villa goal.
And, speaking to the Express and Star, Abraham has admitted that Kodjia’s presence is proving beneficial in attack.

“It is nice to have a bit of chemistry from before, from the Bristol City days,” the former Swansea loanee admitted.
“Now we are here, we have to build that connection, not just me and him but the whole team. I think we will start flying.”
While Abraham is something of an old-school penalty-box poacher, Kodjia is a more versatile forward who likes to pull out wide and open up space for his teammates. So the two strikers can certainly complement each other’s game nicely.
Abraham scored 23 Championship goals during his 2016/17 spell at Bristol City and it remains to be seen whether he can get near that tally at Villa.
