Bailey Peacock-Farrell was superb after forcing his way into the Leeds United first-team in the second half of last season’s Championship

It’s fair to say Marcelo Bielsa is not a man afraid to take a risk.
After being announced as Lille’s new manager last summer, the Argentine tactician made the controversial decision to sideline a number of the club’s most experienced players, including star striker Nicolas De Preville and fans’ favourite goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
Now, both decisions might have backfired spectacularly with Lille in the relegation zone when Bielsa was sacked a few months later, but don’t expect ‘El Loco’ to shy away from the big decisions at Leeds United.
And this has to be seen as a risk. Peacock-Farrell was fantastic for Leeds after forcing his way into the starting XI in the spring, starting 10 Championship games.

In fact, he established himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the Football League and has already caught the eye of Wolverhampton Wanderers according to The Sun (June 3, page 60).
Now, should ‘BPF’ find himself on the bench, there will be no shortage of other clubs keen to get in touch and offer him an escape route. And now that Peacock-Farrell has had a taste of first-team football, you could hardly blame him for wanting to chase that feeling.
If Bielsa drops the 21-year-old, could he be risking losing Leeds’ most exciting goalkeeping talent since a young Paul Robinson emerged through the ranks?
