Liverpool are fighting for the Premier League and Champions League titles this season with Jurgen Klopp preferring Andy Robertson at left-back.

History won’t look fondly on Alberto Moreno’s time at Liverpool.
The Spanish left-back arrived amid big expectations when the Reds paid £12 million to sign him from Sevilla in the summer of 2014 (BBC). But he will always be remembered as the man who cost Liverpool the Europa League final, Moreno’s dismal second-half performance gifting his former club Sevilla a 3-1 win in Switzerland.
It was the kind of error-prone, naive showing that has come to sum up Moreno, and explains why he has barely been seen since Jurgen Klopp signed Andrew Robertson from Hull City.
The 26-year-old’s contract is due to expire in the summer but it is tempting to wonder whether he has already played his final game for the club. With Liverpool out of the FA Cup and fighting for the Premier League title, it seems unlikely that Klopp will turn to a player he seemingly does not trust.
Do not expect to see Moreno given a chance against the elite of the Champions League either, especially with Robertson showing he is capable of playing every three or four days at a remarkably high level.

Liverpool also handed a long-term contract to 19-year-old Adam Lewis, with the U23 star expected to be promoted to Klopp’s first-team squad. It would hardly be a surprise, then, if Lewis is picked ahead of Moreno if Robertson is unavailable for whatever reason, particularly given Klopp has a reputation for throwing youngsters in at the deep end.
Even James Milner looks a more likely alternative, having shone at left-back in 2016/17. Liverpool fans, then, might never see Moreno again.
