Mauricio Pochettino has led Tottenham Hotspur to their best ever Premier League start after a 1-0 win away at West Ham United on Saturday.

For all the talk about the lack of new players at Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are not going too badly at the start of the new season.
A 1-0 win away at bitter rivals West Ham, sealed by a first-half winner from the in-form Erik Lamela, means Spurs have made their best ever start to a Premier League season. They have won seven games out of nine so far and are just two points behind top-of-the-table Manchester City.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (22 October, 9:00am), former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes that the North London giants will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
“Everyone bemoaned about them not bringing players in but I couldn’t see any players who would improve the squad. They’ve got cover everywhere,” said Redknapp, who led Tottenham into the Champions League for the first time in 2010.
“You could argue they need another forward but where are they going to find a great centre-forward to compete with Harry Kane?”

“I think the squad is very good. They’re going to be close again this year.”
Redknapp has a point, particularly when it comes to the strikers potentially available to Tottenham. There has been plenty of criticism about the impact (or lack thereof) made by Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente in North London.
But asking a forward to come in and provide back-up to the talismanic Kane is something of a hard sell.
