Rangers decided to part company with Harry Forrester on Wednesday, terminating his contract and leaving him free to depart Ibrox.

The writing always looked to be on the wall for the 27-year-old – who spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon – when a whole host of new midfielders arrived at Rangers once again this summer, pushing him further than ever down the pecking order.
And, after two years at Ibrox, the BBC reports that Forrester has now had his contract terminated, which means he is free to find a new club ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Although rather than join a middling League One side, it seems that the former Brentford and Doncaster Rovers star is keen to push himself out of his comfort zone.
As reported by the Daily Record, it seems that Forrester is heading to Iran of all places after being snapped on Twitter holding up the shirt of Persian Gulf League outfit Tractor Sazi – who are managed by the former Wales and Real Madrid boss John Toshack.
Forrester could become the first Englishman to join a club in Iran since 1979.
And he is not the first player to leave Rangers for a spell abroad in recent times. Andy Halliday spent time on loan at Azerbaijani outfit Gabala last season, although Forrester will be hoping he makes a bigger impact in the Middle East.
Tractor Sazi finished tenth in the Iranian top flight last season.
