Could Mario Lemina become the seventh player to leave Southampton for Premier League giants Liverpool since the summer of 2014?

This is getting a little ridiculous now.
When Liverpool paid a world record £75 million to make Virgil van Dijk the most expensive defender in the history of football, as reorted by the Telegraph, the Dutchman also became the sixth player to swap Southampton for the red half of Merseyside since 2014.
And, according to L’Equipe, the Reds might not stop there. It is understood that Liverpool are big fans of Saints’ ankle-biting midfielder Mario Lemina and could look to bring him to Anfield this summer, following in the footsteps of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Nathanial Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Sadio Mane.

The former Marseille midfielder Lemina joined Southampton for a club-record £18.1 million in August after a forgettable stint with Juventus and has immediately looked a cut above on the South Coast.
An excellent passer who scored arguably Southampton’s goal of the season so far with a rocket against West Brom, the Gabonese international has started 15 Premier League games and been a bright light in a disappointing season.

But is he really good enough for Liverpool? The Reds may be about to lose Emre Can but they have already agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig and it is debatable whether Lemina is a better option than James Milner or Georginio Wijnaldum.
The ex-Saints legion have enjoyed mixed fortunes at Anfield, and Liverpool fans seem to believe Lemina would be more Lambert than Lallana.
