Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers have raided League Two Notts County for Chinese midfielder Dongda He.

This summer, Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Mexican number nine Raul Jimenez, Spain U21 defender Jonny Castro and two seasoned Portugal internationals with almost 200 caps between them – Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho.
So it is understandable why the arrival of a 17-year-old from Notts County has gone under the radar.
But Wolves fans should still be enthralled by the addition of Dongda He. According to the Nottingham Post, the nouveau riche Black Country side have paid a ‘significant fee’ to sign the Chinese midfielder after intense negotiations with the League Two club.

And if you look at the reaction of Notts County’s fans, as well as their manager Kevin Nolan, it seems that Dongda could be one hell of a talent.
“It would have been nice to have had Dongda around because he is someone we thought could affect the first team. It’s just unfortunate we’ve lost him so early,” Nolan said in quotes reported by the Birmingham Mail.
It seems that the Notts County fans are thinking along similar lines.
The cynics will argue that Dongda’s arrival is merely a PR stunt on behalf of Wolves’ Chinese owners. But the teenager is clearly very highly-rated and if he sells more shirts in the Far East then that is just another benefit of his arrival.
