West Ham United have reportedly offered £26m to bring Flamengo midfielder Gustavo Cuellar to the Premier League.

Colombian international Gustavo Cuellar might have hinted at a move to West Ham United this summer, admitting to Radio Caracol that he is keen to try his hand in the Premier League when quizzed about the ongoing transfer rumours.
Radio Globo claimed recently that the Hammers have made a shock £26 million bid for the Flamengo midfielder, who was a relative unknown outside of South America before these big-money links emerged.
A 26-year-old who has earned just five caps for Colombia and was omitted from their 2018 World Cup squad, Cuellar is renowned for his tough tackling style and impressive passing range from a deep midfield role.
And he hardly played down the speculation when asked by Radio Caracol about whether he is West Ham-bound.
“(The Premier League) is a very competitive championship, Europe is the dream of every player,” Cuellar said.
“But everything comes in due time.”

Radio Globo added that West Ham would likely send Cuellar back on loan to Flamengo until the current Brazilian Serie A season comes to an end in December. The enforcer would then make the belated switch to England in January 2020.
And he would be a welcome addition on paper, with West Ham looking a little lightweight in midfield during Manuel Pellegrini’s debut season.
