West Bromwich Albion were reportedly planning a £20m bid to sign Blackburn Rovers’ Championship ace Bradley Dack in the January transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion’s worst fears came true on Friday.
Harvey Barnes has arguably been the Baggies’ best player in the first half of the season, scoring nine goals and assisting six more while thrilling supporters with his driving runs and eye for the spectacular.
But, in a major blow to West Brom’s promotion hopes, Barnes has now been re-called by parent club Leicester City, leaving a major hole in Darren Moore’s attack.
Although, if you ask many fans, the void could be filled by going all out for Bradley Dack.

According to the Sun (7 October, page 60) West Brom were already preparing a club-record £20 million bid for the Blackburn Rovers talisman, having seen a £15 million offer turned down at the end of the summer transfer window.
Dack and Barnes might be different players, but the former Gillingham star would offer a real goal threat in attack. He has scored ten goals in 22 Championship starts and is blessed with a real poacher’s instinct, not to mention the creativity and vision to open up opposition defences.
