Leigh Griffiths has started just two Scottish Premiership games for Celtic so far this season.

After a tumultuous summer transfer window which saw Moussa Dembele leave on deadline-day, while Olivier Ntcham and Dedryck Boyata courted interest from the continent, Celtic fans will be pleased to learn that three of their most important players are set to sign new deals.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Brendan Rodgers has claimed that Scott Brown, James Forrest and Leigh Griffiths are all in talks to commit their long-term futures to the Scottish Premiership champions.

New deals for Brown and Forrest, who have been regulars in the starting XI in the last two years, will come as little surprise. Griffiths, however, could raise eyebrows and not just because he already has a deal until 2021.
The former Wolves and Hibernian striker has never really cemented his place as Rodgers’ number one striker since the Northern Irishman took over in 2016. Griffiths has actually made just two starts in Celtic’s four Scottish Premiership games this season, with Odsonne Edouard seemingly establishing himself as the first choice.
But there have been no complaints from the Scotland international – who has scored 100 goals in 190 games for the club – about his lack of regular game time. And many fans are more than happy to keep him.
