Christian Eriksen was the hero as Tottenham Hotspur edged Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has singled out Danny Rose for praise after the left-back shone in Tuesday’s 1-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion on his official Twitter account.
Spurs breathed fresh life into their top four hopes with a hard-fought triumph over Chris Hughton’s relegation threatened Seagulls at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
They were forced to wait until the final few minutes for the only goal of the game, Danish play-maker Christian Eriksen firing home from range to break Brighton hearts.
Eriksen was obviously the hero of the piece, finally finding the target after a series of wayward efforts as his rediscovers his form in the final few weeks of the season, but Roberts was keen to highlight Rose’s role in a vital success.
The England international has been in excellent form recently and was impressive at both ends of the pitch in midweek, making one terrific sliding challenge to stop Florin Andone from bearing down on goal.
Rose was only denied a place on the scoresheet himself thanks to a solid Matt Ryan stop too.
After Ben Davies was given the runaround by Bernardo Silva in Saturday’s defeat to Manchester City, Rose’s performance could put him in pole position to start the Champions League semi-finals against Ajax.
