Premier League outfit Everton are reportedly set to complete a shock deal for Juventus’s Serie A winning striker Moise Kean.

Moise Kean of Juventus celebrates after scoringhis second goal during the Serie A match between Juventus and Udinese at Allianz Stadium on March 08, 2019 in Turin, Italy.

Everton legend Graeme Sharp is counting down the days until he sees Moise Kean in an Everton shirt, telling Tuttojuve that the Juventus wonder kid has the potential to be ‘much better’ than Romelu Lukaku.

In the two years since Lukaku swapped Goodison Park for Manchester United in a staggering £75 million deal (BBC), Everton haven’t really come close to replacing their former talisman. Until now.

In one of the summer’s most eye-catching deals, director of football Marcel Brands has somehow pulled off a deal that will see Kean join Everton from Juventus in a deal potentially worth around £36.6 million (Sky Sports).

The 19-year-old is arguably the most exciting teenage striker anywhere in world football right now. He scored seven times in 2019 alone as Juventus sealed an eighth straight Serie A title while becoming Italy’s youngest goal-scorer in over 60 years.

No wonder Sharp is excited to see this prodigious talent hone his considerable talents on the blue half of Merseyside.

“I think he will become much better than (Lukaku),” said the Scot, who won two First Division titles with Everton in the ‘80s. “He will take time to adapt to the Premier League but, once he gets some sort of consistency, I am sure he will be a huge success.

“I think it’s a big buy for Everton. He is a young player with great potential.”

Romelu Lukaku of Everton waves to the crowd prior to the Barclays Premier League match between Everton and Chelsea at Goodison Park on September 14, 2013 in Liverpool, England.

That he certainly is. In fact, Juventus’s decision to let Kean go seems nothing short of baffling, even if Sky believe that they will insist on a buy-back clause as part of the deal.

30-something duo Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain have also been linked with moves away from the Turin giants this summer but, as it stands, they are set to stay while the most promising young talent Italy have produced in many a year is packing his bags.
