The Bees are masters at wheeling and dealing but Norwich City are reportedly forcing them to pay over the odds to sign their top target.
Brentford have made it abundantly clear that they are no easy target in the transfer window.
From making £9 million from Andre Gray (below) after just one year at Griffin Park, according to the BBC, to demanding £15 million for talismanic top scorer Scott Hogan, claimed by West London Sport, it takes some degree of bravery, not to mention deep pockets, to strike a deal with the capital club.

However, it appears that the tables have turned. Sergi Canos may have only started one Championship game all season but that has not stopped Norwich City demanding a rather hefty fee from potential suitors.
And, according to West London Sport, the Canaries have demanded that Brentford double their bid having dismissed an opening offer of £1.5 million out of hand.

The same publication adds that Norwich are keen to sell the former Liverpool schemer although that has not clouded their judgement.
Canos is just 19 and, consequently, interested parties must pay for potential as well as an immediate return on their investment.
Therefore, the extortionate fee Brentford are almost guaranteed to receive from Hogan’s impending departure could be put to good use adding an extra dash of creativity to the midfield. After all, Canos hit seven goals from their during a successful loan spell at Griffin Park in 2015/16.
Yet, they now know how it feels to deal with a distinctly difficult seller.
