Tomas Holy has produced some miracles for Gillingham in League One this season, catching the eye of Derby County, Bristol City and Crystal Palace in the process.

Tomas Holy’s virtuoso performances in between the sticks of Gillingham this season have earned him plenty of admirers from higher up the footballing echelons.
HITC sources told us on Wednesday that the 6ft 9ins shot-stopper is a target for clubs in the top two tiers of English football. Crystal Palace need a goalkeeper badly and reportedly see Holy, who has impressed for the Gills since joining from Sparta Prague in January, as a future first-choice with veteran Julian Speroni currently starting for The Eagles.

Championship duo Derby County and Bristol City are also keen, and it is links with the former that create plenty of intrigue.
After all, Scott Carson has been Derby’s undisputed number one since joining from Wigan Athletic in 2015 and has played every one of their Championship games so far this season. And, at 32, the former England international still has plenty of time left at the top level.

But signing Holy would provide Derby with some quality back-up and, for the first time, Carson with some genuine competition.
It speaks volumes about just how impressive the 26-year-old has been in League One that Gillingham fans have taken to Twitter, hoping that their Czech shot-stopper will not be going anywhere in January.
