Aberdeen reportedly want to sign Jonny Hayes from Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic, one year after the winger left Pittodrie for Parkhead.

You have to feel for Jonny Hayes.
The 30-year-old was just starting to come into his own at Celtic following a slow start, even thriving in a new-look left-wing back position. But then disaster struck.
Hayes suffered a horrible broken leg in a clash against Dundee just after Christmas which brought a premature end to his debut season at Parkhead. In fact, that collision with Josh Meekings could end up being his last action in a Celtic shirt.

It is understood that Preston North End want Hayes on loan too with an option to buy.
Celtic, then, have a decision to make. Hayes was struggling for game time already at Celtic and now Christie and Lewis Morgan are set to provide further competition in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI. To some supporters, Hayes is and never was good enough.
But it must be mentioned that he was finally finding form heading into the festive period last year and, in the eyes of some, he deserves a chance to resurrect his Celtic career.
