Aston Villa may be forced to sell Jack Grealish – but could he still be playing for them in the Championship next season anyway?

Have Aston Villa just been offered a deal they simply can’t refuse?
It is common knowledge that Aston Villa could be forced to sell Jack Grealish this summer after defeat to Fulham in the Championship play-off final plunged the Midland giants into financial free-fall. They need to raise £40 million to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions and selling Grealish, the club’s prized asset and their most valuable player, is probably the best option.

There has been no shortage of interest in the 22-year-old playmaker, who ended last season in the form of his life. Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Everton, Newcastle United and Arsenal have all been linked.
But Chelsea might have a trump card to beat them all. According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are willing to pay £30 million with the added bonus of loaning Grealish back to Aston Villa for the entirety of the 2018/19 season.
And this seems like the best possible option already. Villa fans thought they had seen the last of their homegrown wonderkid and the prospect of him spending next season in claret and blue too did not seem possible just a few hours ago.

The report adds that Grealish himself wants to stay one more year – so this deal would work out perfectly for everyone.
