Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Nick Powell to Ibrox from Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic.

Steven Gerrard might see something of himself in reported Rangers target Nick Powell.
Not for the first time, and probably not for the last, the Glasgow giants have been linked with a move for the Wigan Athletic midfielder. TEAMtalk claim that they, as well as Old Firm rivals Celtic, are showing an interest.
The likes of Derby County, Burnley and Brighton are interested too while Steve Bruce, who worked with Powell during a loan spell with Hull City, wants to reunite with the former Manchester United starlet at Sheffield Wednesday.
But, as one of the finest goal-scoring midfielders of his generation, it doesn’t take a genius to work out why Rangers manager Gerrard has been impressed by the elegant 25-year-old.
Since getting his career back on track at Wigan, a player who was compared to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes during his formative years at Crewe Alexandra has found the net with regularity from his role behind the striker.

Powell scored 15 goals as Wigan won the League One title last year, some of them truly spectacular, and he has provided another seven in the Championship this season.
Given that Gerrard built his reputation upon long-range screamers and perfectly-timed runs into the penalty area during almost two decades at the heart of Liverpool’s midfield, it is no wonder that he wants to work with Powell at Rangers.
