Sunderland midfielder George Honeyman is reportedly on the radar of Sheffield United.

George Honeyman has been linked with a move to Sheffield United in the January transfer window, but the Sunderland midfielder’s latest comments to The Chronicle suggest that he is not thinking about leaving the Black Cats anytime soon.
According to The Sun, Chris Wilder’s United are interested in signing Honeyman from Sunderland in order to boost their chances of getting promoted to the Championship to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old midfielder, though, does not seem to be thinking about leaving Sunderland anytime soon and is focused on leading Jack Ross’s side to promotion from League One to the Championship.
Honeyman told The Chronicle: “I feel proud to be part of the team that I am immensely proud to be captain.
“But it really does feel as as though we’re only just getting started – the best is definitely yet to come.”

Honeyman is an important player in Ross’s team and is playing well for Sunderland at the moment.
The 24-year-old midfielder has scored two goals and provided two assists in14 League One appearances for the Black Cats, so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
Sunderland are second in the League One table at the moment with 35 points from 16 matches, just three points behind leaders Portsmouth with a game in hand.
