Celtic will welcome Lewis Morgan to Parkhead next season after he inspires St Mirren to the Scottish Premiership.

If any Celtic fans were tuning in as St Mirren went 12 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership thanks to a 3-1 win at Queen of the South on Saturday, they would have been left in no doubt why the Hoops moved heaven and earth to sign Lewis Morgan in the January transfer window.
Morgan rattled home a precise free-kick to seal a win that puts a place in the top flight within the Buddies’ grasp; his 14th goal of a remarkable individual campaign in which he has also set up a further 12.

This, however, was the 21-year-old’s first goal since he sealed that £300,000 move to Celtic in January, agreeing to spend the rest of the season on loan at St Mirren. But it appears it was worth waiting for.
Because the jubilant Buddies supporters have not held back in their adulation for a player who has been perhaps the best outside the Scottish top flight this season. Make no mistake, they will miss him when he is wearing green and white.

But if their St Mirren counterparts are anything to go by, the Hoops could have a real talent on their hands.
