Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Roberto Gagliardini while Inter Milan are allegedly keen on World Cup semi-finalist Mousa Dembele.

At the start of the summer, it was expected that Mousa Dembele would be on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur after six years in North London, and that a younger alternative would be signed to act as the Belgian’s long-term successor.
But, with just a week remaining in the transfer window, Dembele is still at Tottenham while Mauricio Pochettino’s side have so far failed to make a single signing. This is despite the former Fulham man repeatedly confirming that he fancies a new challenge at the age of 31, and that he has just a year left on his contract.
So reports in Tuttomercatoweb that Tottenham are interested in young Italian international Roberto Gagliardini bring up an interesting possibility.
24-year-old Gagliardini is a player with the skill-set to succeed Dembele. The former Atalanta midfielder, who moved to Inter Milan in 2017, is an all-round midfield maestro, capable of breaking up and starting attacks from deep and running the game with his intelligent distribution.

His Inter side had allegedly hoped to sign Dembele and pair him with fellow new recruit Radja Nainngolan. The Mail reported last month that the Nerrazzuri had held talks with the £20 million-rated midfielder’s agent.
And, with Gagliardini valued at a similar fee – £18 million – could Tottenham and Inter come to terms on a straight swap for the two players? It would certainly make sense.
