Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Newcastle United were reportedly interested in signing Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues.

The January transfer window could be key to Crystal Palace or Newcastle’s hopes of avoiding the drop with both sides crying out for some much-needed attacking reinforcements.
But it’s fair to say The Eagles or The Magpies have not attacked the market at a rate of knots.
Roy Hodgson did not do a great job of hiding his frustration after Crystal Palace backed out of a deal for the Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke last week, blaming a ‘club decision’ before the England U21 international joined Bournemouth instead for £19 million.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are also crying out for attacking reinforcements with Rafa Benitez’s toothless attack often costing his hard-working side dear.
And it seems that both Palace and Newcastle have missed out on a signing that could have been very well received at either Selhurst Park or St James’.

Calciomercato reported recently that Crystal Palace were interested in the highly-rated Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues, a player Newcastle have been watching for over a year and were linked with a few months ago by Turkish Football, having seen a £13 million bid rejected.
Rodrigues scored 10 goals and set up 11 more last season, inspiring Gala to the Super Lig title.
But rather than move to the Premier League in the prime of his career, the Cape Verde international has instead made a money-spinning move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, according to King Fut.
So with Palace and Newcastle needing attackers and fast, they will now have to look elsewhere.
