Lyon’s Ligue 1 star Maxwell Cornet could reportedly move to the Premier League in January after previously being turned down at Liverpool

Maxwell Cornet could be handed a perfect opportunity to show Liverpool what they’re missing.
According to The Sun, the Lyon winger could be on his way to the Premier League in the next few months with big-spending Fulham planning to sign him in an £18 million deal in January.
Cornet was superb in Lyon’s Champions League opener away at Manchester City recently, scoring the winner at The Etihad, and The Cottagers are now hoping to open talks for a player who they were also keen on last summer.
The 22-year-old, meanwhile, is keen on seizing the chance to prove himself in England.
And Liverpool should be in his sights. Because, according to The Sun (30 September, page 59), the Anfield giants turned down the chance to sign the powerful winger in his younger days.

Cornet spent time on Merseyside at the start of his career, but The Sun claims Liverpool carried out medical tests before coming to the conclusion that he lacked the size or the physicality to make it in the professional game.
The Ivory Coast international has since developed into a hugely promising young attacker at Lyon and the chance to prove Liverpool wrong should be enough motivation for a move across The Channel.
