Left-back Matt Targett is reportedly keen to return to Fulham in January with his chances at Premier League rivals Southampton limited.

Saturday’s clash between Fulham and Southampton at St Mary’s wasn’t short of subplots.
Both sides were struggling down the bottom of the Premier League table, Claudio Ranieri was celebrating his first game in charge of the Cottagers while, in the opposition dugout, Mark Hughes is a man under huge pressure.
So the fact that Matt Targett was due to start against the club he shone for during a loan spell last season rather went under the radar.
The left-back spent time at Fulham from January to May, helping Slavisa Jokanovic’s side seal their return to the Premier League via the play-offs.

And Fulham were desperate to keep him, TEAMtalk reporting that they had a £16 million bid rejected in August. And The Standard reports that the 23-year-old would welcome a return to Craven Cottage with the West London side considering coming in for him again in January.
So, with Targett starting against his former club in the absence of regular left-back Ryan Bertrand as Fulham sealed a dramatic 3-2 win against Southampton, how did the home support view his performance?
At best, it was a mixed bag.
