Claudio Ranieri could be sacked by Fulham after another Premier League defeat, but could former Huddersfield Town boss Wagner replace him?

If the chorus of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ didn’t give it away, it seems the Fulham fans have lost patience with Claudio Ranieri. And it appears the board might agree.
A 2-0 defeat at Southampton on Wednesday night means the Cottagers now face an almost impossible task if they want to play Premier League football next season. They are ten points from safety with ten games to go.
The decision to hire Ranieri as Slavisa Jokanovic’s successor in November has backfired spectacularly with the veteran Italian winning just three of his 17 games in charge. As a result, the Mail reports that Fulham could sack the 67-year-old today in a last, and rather desperate, roll of the dice.

But who would Fulham fans want to replace Ranieri?
David Wagner is a young, energetic manager proven in the Championship. And he is without a club, too, having left Huddersfield Town in January.
The German, in the eyes of many supporters, is the ideal man to get the Cottagers back on track with relegation looking inevitable. He certainly ticks a lot of boxes, having won promotion with a Huddersfield side far less gifted than the current Fulham squad.
