Why Seamus Coleman is not inundated with offers from Europe’s richest clubs on a yearly basis is anyone’s guess.

Not according to Tony Cascarino, who believes the Red Devils missed a trick in not nabbing Seamus Coleman away from Everton, according to talkSPORT.
While United fans have had to endure the sight of Antonio Valencia drill a series of aimless crosses into the knees of the nearest full-back, Coleman has evolved into one of the most multi-faceted players in the Premier League, combining solid one-on-one defending with ever-dangerous forays into opposition territory.
And, while his output may have dropped considerably since he tallied a career best six top flight goals in 2013/14, Cascarino cannot understand why David Moyes in particular did not make Coleman a priority when ascending into the top job in 2013.
Then again, if a pound was issued every time a David Moyes decision is questioned, every pundit in the land would enter an early retirement.
“Seamus is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League in my opinion,” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
“Week in, week out, Seamus does a fantastic job and I’m sure Everton fans will be proud of how well he plays for them and his country because his last three or four performances for Ireland have been exceptional.”
“When Moyes got the job at Man United I thought the first player he should have signed was Seamus Coleman.
There was talk of Leighton Baines and [Moyes] ended up taking [Marouane] Fellaini, but Coleman was the one I really felt they should have gone for.”
Few United fans would disagree with the notion that chucking their annual summer budget at the afroed ambler wasn’t their best bit of transfer business, but the ship now looks to have well and truly sailed on any prospects of bringing the Republic of Ireland flyer to Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old is now in his eighth season at Goodison Park since arriving as a rake-thin youngster from Sligo Rovers, and has shown little interest departing the club that transformed him into one of the Premier League’s most consistently excellent players.
Who would have thought anyone would fill the esteemed boots of one Tony Hibbert?
