Wilfried Zaha hit out at what he perceived to be rough treatment and then struggled during the goalless Premier League draw with Newcastle United.

Wilfried Zaha has caught the eye both on and off the pitch of late.
The Crystal Palace talisman has started the season in fine form but, after scoring a stunning winner away at Huddersfield Town, took the opportunity to express his dissatisfaction at some of the alleged rough treatment from opposition players.
Zaha has certainly faced some rather hefty challenges of late and he complained that no action would be taken until he suffered a serious injury like a broken leg.
Zaha then struggled to make his usual impact in Saturday’s goalless draw with Newcastle United, with Eagles manager Roy Hodgson telling the Standard; “I fear that was of his own making to some extent. It was not a good week for him with all the discussions over the interview.”
And it seems that former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan agrees with Hodgson’s view.
“I didn’t think it was appropriate for Wilfried to come out and say this,” Jordan, who was the head honcho at Selhurst Park between 2000 and 2010 told talkSPORT (24 September, 7:00pm).

“Its sods law that he didn’t play that well, he didn’t play that badly either but he didn’t have one of his stellar days.
“Despite the fact (he) was right, there was probably no sense in Wilfried coming out and saying it. I thought Hodgson was very disapproving.”
Zaha is perhaps better off doing his talking on the pitch, because Palace seem incapable of winning a game when their one-time academy graduate is not on top of his game.
