There is no room at Premier League powerhouses Liverpool right now for goalkeeper Shamal George so will he prove his worth at Marine FC?

Liverpool goalkeeper Shamal George has joined Marine FC on loan with the non-league outfit hailing a ‘fantastic’ signing, as reported by the Northern Premier League website.
Goalkeepers have been the talk of the town at Anfield this season.
Alisson Becker’s injury problems mean Adrian has become an immediate Reds hero thanks to his penalty-saving heroics in the Super Cup triumph over Chelsea while highly-rated Irishman Caoimhin Kelleher is waiting in the wings for a chance to prove himself. And that’s without mentioning the veteran Andy Lonergan, signed on a short-term deal recently to provide cover and experience.
So with the path to the first-team blocked for now, 21-year-old George will have to make do with a loan spell in the (breathes in) Northern Premier League Division One North West.
A Wirral-born shot-stopper who has spent time out on loan at Carlisle and Tranmere while signing a long-term contract with the European champions in 2018, George represents a major coup for Marine FC – at least according to manager Neil Young.

“Shamal is a fantastic signing for us at this stage of the season and I know how keen he is to come and play games and do well,” he said. “I would like to thank Liverpool Football Club for their assistance with the loan agreement.”
Time will tell whether George shines ‘Down by the River’ in a Neil Young side but he has a lot to do if he wants to match the impact made by another on-loan Reds ‘keeper.
Huddersfield Town are struggling in the Championship relegation zone but imagine where they would be without the inspired Kamil Grabara between the sticks.
