Mateusz Klich is set to leave Elland Road on loan this month after the arrival of Adam Forshaw, and Jay-Roy Grot could benefit from leaving Leeds United, too.
The impending addition of Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw will pave the way for forgotten man Mateusz Klich to leave Leeds United on loan before the end of the transfer window.
The Polish international midfielder simply hasn’t made an impact at Elland Road and is attracting attention from a number of sides on the continent.
But Klich might not be the only one of Victor Orta’s recent additions to be on his way out of Elland Road this month. The Yorkshire Evening Post report that a number of other fringe players could be leaving, with the Leeds chiefs accepting that additions need to be made.
And with the Whites clearly in the market for a new striker to boost an attack that has failed to fire consistently this season, and the YEP stating that they are keen on Preston’s Jordan Hugill but are reluctant to pay his £8 million price-tag, could Jay-Roy Grot be one of those heading for the exit?
The 6ft 4ins attacker had only played 35 league games in his senior career before Leeds paid a fee that could rise to £1.5 million for his services in August.
The gamble, however, has backfired with Grot yet to score a single goal and looking rather out of his depth in England’s second tier.
Although the Dutchman could not move to another club having already played for NEC Nijmegen and Leeds this season, a return to the Netherlands with his former team on loan could be the best option for all parties.
Grot needs regular game-time and a boost of confidence. Like Klich, he is unlikely to find that in West Yorkshire.
