Donny Van de Beek is reportedly heading to Real Madrid but would he be better off at Premier League outfit Liverpool?

Donny Van de Beek appears to be on his way to Real Madrid but former Ajax winger Kenneth Perez believes Liverpool would be the ideal destination for one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders, speaking to Dit Was Het Weekend on Fox Sports.
At the age of just 22, the sky is the limit for Van de Beek.
A naturally-gifted number ten who times late runs into the penalty area like a peak-Frank Lampard, he produced 17 goals and 13 assists as Ajax sealed an Eredivisie and KNVB Cup double last season while reaching the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in two decades.
Speaking to Fox Sports over the weekend, Van de Beek admitted that he is in talks over a move to Real Madrid while Marca believes Ajax could sell for £65 million.
But with Zinedine Zidane’s side looking far from convincing heading into the new campaign, this might not be the best time to seal a dream move to the Bernabau.
Perez, who played for Ajax in 2008, certainly feels that Anfield would be a better destination for a player with the work-rate and technical ability to thrive under Jurgen Klopp.

“I would have preferred a club like Liverpool,” said Perez, referencing Gini Wijnaldum’s success at Liverpool after making his name at PSV.
“Take the Wijnaldum route. It is great that the Dutch league can again deliver players to the absolute top [clubs].That is good news.”
While Liverpool are the reigning Champions of Europe, Real could hardly have looked further away from such glory during a disastrous 2018/19 campaign.
There were no trophies to savour last season and, despite a hefty summer outlay, a 7-3 thrashing against rivals Atletico Madrid plus defeats to Tottenham and Bayern Munich in pre-season hardly showcased a team ready to take Spanish football by storm.
