Championship title-chasers Leeds United are reportedly keen to rescue £28m winger Yannick Bolasie from Premier League outfit Everton.
Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has played down talk of a move to Leeds United amid reports that he is a target for the Elland Road club, while speaking to Walfoot.
TEAMtalk claimed last week that Leeds had identified Bolasie as one of their top summer targets if they seal a return to the Premier League in the final few weeks of a thrilling 2018/19 season.
The Congolese international is expected to leave Everton three years after he joined the club from Crystal Palace for £28 million, as reported by Sky Sports, having spent the current campaign on loan at Aston Villa and Anderlecht respectively.
But Bolasie appeared rather nonplussed by suggestions that he is on his way to West Yorkshire.
“Have I spoken to (Leeds boss Marcelo) Bielsa? I have never heard about that, frankly,” the 29-year-old said.
“I’m happy to be here and that’s what counts. Will I stay? You never know.”
After a forgettable spell at Aston Villa, Bolasie is rebuilding his reputation at Anderlecht with four goals in seven Jupiler League games so far.
The chances are that Anderlecht don’t have the funds to sign the winger permanently, however, which could open the door for Leeds to make their move should they finish in the top two or triumph in the play-offs.
