Premier League outfit Everton reportedly wanted Trabzonspor’s Super Lig ace Okay Yokuslu – but he’s on his way to Celta Vigo in La Liga instead.

Well that didn’t last long.

Turkish Football claimed on Thursday that Everton were planning a move for Trabzonspor midfielder Okay Yokuslu, the so-called Turkish Busquetts who has shone in the Super Lig for his intelligent positioning and ravenous ball-winning.

Yokuslu shone during Turkey’s 1-1 draw with Russia last week and reportedly caught the eye of Everton’s scouts after being linked with a number of other Premier League clubs in recent times.

But according to A Spor, Everton’s hopes of landing what could have been a brilliant bargain deal are over already. It is understood that Yokuslu has agreed a move to La Liga outfit Celta Vigo in a deal that could cost just £7 million.

Celta, who are one of the best around when it comes to locating and securing brilliant cut-price deals, could see Yokuslu as a replacement for the in-demand Slovakian powerhouse Stanislav Lobotka.

And considering that Everton are willing to sell £24 million flop Morgan Schneiderlin this summer, according to The Guardian, they should be disappointed to learn that they have left it too late to bring in Yokuslu.

The 24-year-old is one of the most talented young ball winners in Europe and is exactly the sort of promising, affordable talent that Everton need to make after two summers of overpriced flops.
