Everton are reportedly keen to bring Ante Rebic to Goodison Park after his wonderful World Cup performances for Croatia.

Ask any Everton fan what was lacking from their side last season and they will throw a few similar words at you: pace, guile, creativity and directness.
The Toffees lumbered to an eighth-place finish via a brief flirtation with the relegation zone but, while results improved somewhat after the arrival of Sam Allardyce, performances certainly did not.
It is well documented that Everton ranked bottom of the Premier League for chances created, attempts on goal and shots on target. In truth, it was a challenge sitting through 90 minutes of football when the toothless Toffees were in action.

So in that sense, Everton appear to be targeting a player who represents everything they were missing throughout a dire 2017/18. The Mirror reports that the Merseyside giants want to sign Croatia’s World Cup star Ante Rebic, who is valued by Fiorentina at £26 million.
Now, anyone who has watched Croatia in Russia or Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga last season will tell you what Rebic is all about. Blessed with rapid pace and an eye for goal, the 24-year-old scored nine times during a loan spell in Germany, including two stunning goals in the 3-1 DFB Pokal final win against Bayern Munich.

Rebic has taken that form into the World Cup, too, bursting Argentina’s net with a wonderful volley while driving fear into the heart of backtracking full-backs.
In short, the Croatia star is exactly the sort of player who would bring some excitement back to Goodison Park.
