Everton have been linked with a move to bring Genk’s Norwegian international Sander Berge to the Premier League for two years.
If seems that Everton want to add another technically gifted and dynamic attacking midfielder to their squad in the summer transfer window.
The Toffees’ interest in Arsenal favourite Jack Wilshere is well documented and, according to Turkish Football, they will turn to Besiktas’s Oguzhan Ozyakup should the England international reject the chance to move to Goodison Park.
Ozyakup, like Wilshere, is out of contract this summer.
But Everton should not be so quick to forget about Sander Berge, another player who is expected to be on the move in a few months.
They have been linked with the 20-year-old Norwegian international since 2016. The Mirror reported late last year that the Merseyside giants were still interested, despite his price-tag rising considerably on the back of some excellent performances for Belgian side Genk.
Although Berge’s days in the Jupiler League seem to be coming to an end because, amid interest from La Liga duo Villarreal and Real Betis, Estadio Deportivo claims that Genk could let Berge leave if they receive an offer around £13 million.
While this is obviously a lot more than Everton would have to pay for free-agents Wilshere and Ozyakup, Berge is a huge talent blessed with the same vision, composure and direct dribbling ability as the two established internationals.
So he should be another name in the frame this summer.
